Northline Ledger
A sample narrative for an operations ledger: money in, money out, and the exceptions that usually live in email.
Sample case study. Replace with a real Vantrea project. Figures are placeholders, not results.

Challenge
A payments product had a customer app and no honest operations layer. Reconciliation lived in spreadsheets. Exceptions were tribal knowledge. Support could not explain a balance without engineering.
Approach
We would model the ledger first — double-entry, idempotent posts, and a visible exception queue. The customer surface would read from the same record. Underwriting and ops tools would sit on top, not beside.
Solution
A sample architecture: a ledger service, an ops workbench, and a customer statement view. Webhooks from the processor land in one place. Every mutation has an actor and a reason.
